Left to Tell

I have been reading a book called Left to Tell by Immaculee Ilibagiza. This book was recommended to me to read by a friend. It is about the genocide in Rwanda and how this young lady survived against incredible odds with God's help. I have never read something so powerful in my life. So the devotion below is so true. This girl had God's protection through the entire genocide. It was amazing. I could not put the book down.

Grace for the Moment by Max Lucado
I have given you power....that is greater than the enemy has.
Luke 10:19

Many players appear on the stage of Gethsemane....[But] the encounter is....between God and Satan. Satan dares to enter yet another garden, but God stands and Satan hasn't a prayer....Satan falls in the presence of Christ....Satan is silent in the proclamation of Christ....Satan is powerless against the protection of Christ....When Jesus says he will keep you safe, he means it....When he says he will get you home, he will get you home.

Sounds like an interesting book. I love that 'breakdown' of Gethsemane.

I trust you had a good Easter weekend. It was certainly a different one for us, didn't even really feel like Easter and we didn't go to church yesterday. I couldn't focus my brain on it yesterday. I have never watched The Passion movie yet & I thought I would this weekend...but I still don't think I'm ready to see it. I know I need to see it but I am not prepared for it quite yet because I know it will be unlike any 'Jesus' film I've seen in the past.

Hi, my name is Susan, and I am a new blog friend of Becky.

What a beautiful, restful site you have created. I love that song... I don't think I've heard it before but will be asking my teenager to down load it soon for his mom:)

God's Protection... an interesting subject. It's so good to see how our Lord works in different peoples lives for His good purposes. We can trust the Lord knowing He always knows best.

The first devotional story I ever wrote has to do with that subject, it's called "God's Protective Hand". It's a topic I struggled with for twelve years but God gave me rest one day when He showed me how He ultimately protects His children. "He holds us in His hand and never lets go, no matter what." (John 10:28) We are safe for eternity because of Jesus.

Blessings and Joy,
Susan
