Where my Faith comes from
I have not blogged in a while. I guess I have really not been in the blogging mood lately. I have been working a lot and just been tired. I have four days off this weekend. So I have caught up on some much needed rest. And it has rained here all weekend. Good sleeping weather. I really have not minded the rainy weather this weekend. It actually been kinda nice. I enjoy the rain sometimes. Anyway this is something I had wanted to do a post on for a while just have not got around to it.
This is a picture of my great grandfather holding his Bible. He was a circuit preacher. He would ride from town to town on his horse and preach at different churches. This is where my faith comes from. It was instilled in me by my grandparents and my Mom. I am so glad that my grandparents had faith in God which was passed down from my great grandfather. My grandmother would always ask us if we were in church every time we went to visit. And it just always stuck with me. And whenever I have children I plan on instilling that faith in God just like my grandparents and my Mom did with me. It is just awesome to think that my great grandfather way back in the late 1800's was able to affect my life today. I wish I could of known him.

What an awesome heritage you have! That picture is a treasure!
You will know him my friend! He's probably beaming at the wonderful words you have said about him & proud that his legacy of faith is still being carried out by his great granddaughter and in her children to come!
Glad you caught up on some rest. I love a sleepy rainy weekend every now & then too. Especially here in the desert.
What an incredible legacy. And what a cool picture of your circuit riding grandpa preacher! Love it!
I'm blessed too with a wonderful Christian heritage. My Nanna also says, "I'll see you on Sunday, right?" We're blessed to go to the same church these last years. Soon my grandparents will be home with the Lord. My Nanna's kidney's are failing, my Pappy's heart, but not their faith in the Lord.
I'm glad too for your time of rest. I was just reading about "rest" in II Samuel. In the midst of David's travels (running from his renegade son Absalom) the Bible says, "Now the king and all the people who were with him became weary; so they refreshed themselves there." (II Sam. 16:14)
Blessings today!
Heartwarming...spirit-enriching...keep up!
Faith of our fathers living still.
That faith is the Gift that keeps on giving.
